Steps to Replace the Thermostat

  4. Use the screwdriver to loosen the hose clamp and remove the hose from the thermostat housing.

  5. Use your socket set to remove the bolts on the thermostat housing. Take out the faulty thermostat.

  6. Install the new thermostat making sure it is positioned correctly and replace the housing cover.

  7. Replace the radiator hose and tighten the clamp.

  8. Refill the radiator with anti-freeze coolant.

  9. Run your car and watch the temperature gauge to ensure the new thermostat is working correctly.
